Melancholia

Translated from the Taiwanese Mandarin by ROSHAN

When is this world quiet and peaceful?
The ants loose their impulses
And don't carry candy
Pigeons are undetectable
Where the flags direct themselves
Lightning fails to make two lines of poetry
Written for the sky

Trains are finally suspended
No passersby to pass near me
No man is worth missing
I bite my fingers before the mirror
Is the valley’s snow still melting?
Bear River hesitates like a child's face
Worker bees have forgotten
How to guide men to the blossom
The soil in a flood washes the bridge’s nose
And breaks the mountain range
Destroying the stone tablet, revealing sadness

Who can forget the evil
Forget a virgin violin
While playing a chord
To pull off

How explain a body suffused with the vision
To bring the discrimination and denunciation
In prying eyes as leaves are about to fall
Make me reborn

Moths rush to the candle
In the night, the imagination
Of ordinary people
Lands on an unknown planet
No ability to eavesdrop
Eager dissonance of scam
Alone in the dark
Still frustrated, helpless

I read words from the vastness
I let time pull the bowstring aim at the heart
No longer escaping to the edge
I won't write the lantern poem
Even if feels like foam in seawater
Seeds under the snow in the autumn
Before spring advances
Decide to germinate
